Introduction

Since 2001

NIMM set up Library & Information Center . This is the clue to the information on natural medicinal materials to the centers, stations, camps belonging to the institute as well as to the whole country. NIMM has its own website: http://www.vienduoclieu.org.vn, http://www.nimm.org.vn, LAN (local area network), and the system of Internet retrieval in the whole institute. Currently, the institute is joining APTMNET (Asia- Pacific traditional Medicine and Herbal Technology network).

Since 2002, NIMM has published Bulletin of Medicinal Materials along with Journal of Medicinal Materials in Vietnamese. Bulletin of Medicinal material is issued monthly containing update news on medicinal materials searched from foreign well- known journals or through Internet. Journal of Medicinal Materials has been issued 6 numbers each year with published papers of scientists from NIMM and other institutes and colleges.

Since 1986, NIMM has concentrated the investment to buy more internal and foreign books, news, journals such as: Planta Medica, Phytochemistry, Glossary of Indian medicinal plants, Plants Resources of South Asia, Medicinal and Poisonous plants, Chinese drugs of plant origin, the Pharmacological basis of therapeutics, Indian medicinal plants, Chinese Pharmaceutical journal, Chinese journal of integrated traditional western medicine, the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 1997, the British Pharmacopoeia 1998, 2001, the Japanese Pharmacopoeia 2001, the Korea Pharmacopoeia 2002, the international Pharmacopoeia 2003, 1994, 1988, 1981, 1979, the European Pharmacopoeia 2003, and some Russian journals.

NIMM published the book named: "NIMM's scientific research work 1986 - 2000".

From 1976 - 1985, the institute had cooperated with many foreign organizations, research Institutes and received many books, such as: Indian medicinal plant resources, books of UNDP project, Chemical abstract selects.

At this stage, NIMM also published the books of seminar and scientific publications:

+ Notebook of medicinal plants in the North Vietnam .

+ Technique of medicinal plant cultivation.

+ Conservation of natural medicinal materials

+ Guidance on protection of regeneration and exploitation of medicinal plants.
